Paratroopers’ Day celebrations in Brest
Brest celebrated Paratroopers Day on a grand scale on 2 August. A ceremonial rally was held on the brigade’s parade ground to mark the 96th anniversary of the Airborne Forces and special operations forces. During the ceremony, outstanding paratroopers were presented with well-deserved decorations on the parade ground. The paratroopers recreated episodes of resistance by partisans and Red Army soldiers against Nazi invaders, the conflict in Afghanistan, and a modern mock battle. The demonstration featured gunfire, explosions, and smoke screens, while spectators witnessed a wide array of ground and aircraft equipment in action. Notably, the troops demonstrated how motorcycles and drones can be deployed to combat the enemy. The brigade’s grounds transformed into a hub of various interactive zones, a children’s play area, and outdoor food and retail stalls.
