France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.50%
Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares higher while losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.50%, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.52%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 2.57% or 1.18 points to trade at 47.17 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) added 2.11% or 0.37 points to end at 18.02 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 1.84% or 1.32 points to 73.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 4.06% or 4.80 points to trade at 113.40 at the close. Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) declined 2.32% or 0.56 points to end at 23.63 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was down 1.27% or 0.19 points to 14.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were ID Logistics SAS (EPA:IDLA) which rose 2.76% to 242.00, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which was up 2.57% to settle at 47.17 and JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) which gained 2.20% to close at 15.34.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 4.34% to 4.28 in late trade, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which lost 4.06% to settle at 113.40 and Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 3.39% to 1.17 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 315 to 216 and 87 ended unchanged.
Shares in Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.06% or 4.80 to 113.40. Shares in Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) fell to all time lows; losing 4.34% or 0.19 to 4.28. Shares in Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.06% or 4.80 to 113.40.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.19% or 3.80 to $1,990.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.18% or 1.92 to hit $86.16 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.92% or 1.77 to trade at $90.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 105.56.
